NHS Digital has recently announced it is setting up a new primary care data collection service. The new data collection process is to begin from the 1st July 2021.
As a GP Practice, to improve health and care services for everyone, we already share patient data for the purposes of:
- Monitoring the long-term safety and effectiveness of care
- Planning how to deliver better health and care services
- Preventing the spread of infectious diseases
- Identifying new treatments and medicines through health research
The new GPDfPR service will now also help to support:
- researching the long-term impact of coronavirus on the population
- Analysing healthcare inequalities
- Researching and developing cures for serious illnesses
